Lucy Hicks has joined the LYP team as our new Community Youth Worker – Bookham Lead.
Lucy is passionate about building positive relationships with young people and seeing them grow in confidence. She has been working with young people since 2018, when she did a youth work internship in her gap year. She moved to Edinburgh for university and spent five years as an assistant youth worker while she was studying.
As the Bookham Lead, Lucy will be responsible for managing BYouth, our after school drop-in youth cafe in Bookham, offering targeted evening projects and working in partnership with the local churches to provide christian faith-based activities.
Working alongside our Leatherhead youth workers, Lucy will also help to deliver residential trips, social action projects and day trips to engage young people aged 11 – 17 in our local community.
