LYP Reports
Supporting Young People in Bookham
In 2016 LYP launched its youth work provision in Bookham with the support of St Nicolas Church, Eastwick Road Church and Bookham Baptist Church.
LYP’s drop-in youth café, BYouth is situated in the centre of Bookham and provides a safe, positive space for young people aged 11 – 17 to meet friends, enjoy a variety of activities and get to know our youth workers.
This report provides an in-depth look into LYP’s work in Bookham, sharing information on the support provided, projects offered, our running costs and future plans for continuing to support young people in our local community.
LYP Impact Report 2023
This report showcases the impact LYP’s everyday youth work had in 2023 to support local young people across Mole Valley.
The Impact Report is split into the five stages of LYP’s youth work continuum: welcome, engage, support, empower and transform.
From the first welcome at one of our youth cafés, to feeling empowered as a young adult, LYP’s continuum journeys alongside young people every step of the way.
Your Community, Your Voice:
School Leavers Survey
330 local Year 11’s took part in our Your Community, Your Voice: School Leavers Survey in 2022. They told us what they are planning to do when they leave school, what their biggest worries are and how they are truly feeling about their future.
“We have seen firsthand the barriers many of our young people face when transitioning to adulthood. This report confirms these concerns, with so many young people feeling overwhelmed and unprepared. We are working hard to develop bespoke ways of supporting them during this crucial transition and are committed to helping them gain qualifications, learn valuable life skills as well as access employment opportunities. We want all local young people to be confident, inspired and fulfil their potential.” Jude Crome, CEO, LYP
