The new school year means our youth cafes, BYouth in Bookham and BFree in Leatherhead are back! Alongside seeing lots of familiar faces returning, we’ve also been welcoming the new cohort of year 7’s to both of our after school drop-ins.
Many of the year 7’s had already met the youth workers when they provided transition support at some of the local primary schools during their last term as year 6’s.
Our transition work at primary schools plays an integral role in helping young people to feel supported as they move up to secondary school, providing an opportunity to get to know the youth workers and understand what is on offer now they are in year 7. It is great to see so many year 7’s coming along and we are looking forward to getting to know them.
