We are so thrilled to be celebrating 20 years of LYP!

Over the years we have worked with thousands of young people, providing them a safe space and support. At the heart of the work is a passion for young people’s wellbeing and an approach that adapts with local needs. Ensuring young people feel heard, valued & supported, so they can have access to more opportunities and have a brighter future.

LYP was started by a small group of people from three local churches & the district council with just an idea, an empty hall, little funds & yet to have any employees. Over 20 years later the same hall is buzzing with young people daily, our team of 11 are working across the whole borough & our stories of provision are many.

All the work we do and all the thousands of young people we have worked with would not be possible without the support of so many. Whether you have supported our work more recently or since the beginning, we are forever grateful. We are immensely proud to be part of and to serve a community that values its young people so well.

I’d like to acknowledge the incredible team at LYP. The current team as well as those that have paved the way before. Their expertise, passion and commitment truly has made a difference for so many.

Most importantly I want to thank the young people, many who are adults now and some whose children are attending our current projects. Thank you for shaping the organisation into the charity it has become.

The faces and needs may have changed over the past 20 years, however the commitment to young people remains strong. We look forward, with your help, to continue to ensure every local young person has a sense of belonging and the support they need, when they need it.

Many thanks
Jude Crome, CEO, LYP
