To help support vulnerable year 6’s with the transition to secondary school, LYP ran group sessions at the Greville Primary School, St Peter’s Catholic Primary School and Eastwick Junior School.
During the first and last group sessions we asked the young people to tell us how they were feeling about going to secondary school and they told us:

The group sessions form part of LYP’s support for year 6’s which also includes:
– Five year 6 assemblies in schools across Leatherhead, Ashtead and Bookham
– A weekly lunchtime drop-in youth cafe at Leatherhead Trinity School for year 6’s to attend
– Joining Therfield School’s year 6 open evening, two day induction and meet the parents event at Leatherhead Community Hub
– Providing a taster session at BFree for year 6’s from Leatherhead Trinity School
Thank you to Joe’s Buddy Line for funding our transition work and making this valuable support for year 6’s possible.
