Our LYP Aspire project is about helping young people plan for their future and find the education or employment they are looking for. 17-year-old Jude self-referred to the LYP Aspire project to help him build a CV to find work alongside his studies. He had heard about Aspire by attending a ‘CV and employability skills’ workshop run at Therfield school by our Aspire team. When Jude started writing his CV he found he didn’t have to knowledge to format and present his experience in a concise and effective way. Working with Aspire helped him structure his qualifications, and to understand and present his achievements in a way that would be relevant for the roles he was applying for. He learnt how to craft a personal statement to show his personal qualities and show his interests and experience.

Jude had this to say about his experience of working with the LYP Aspire project:

“I would definitely rate the service, I was extremely satisfied with the service given to me as I came out with a very good CV in which I could use to find a job. I learnt a variety of new skills such as what to include within my CV to make it stand out from the rest to give me the best opportunity to gain a job in the future. Since the Aspire session with LYP I have recently gained a new job using my CV. After attending Aspire to gain help with my CV I would 100% recommend anyone to go down and visit if they need help with CV writing or any other of the fantastic initiatives they offer.”
